summer learning journey:against the odds 2.

Yusra Mardini was born on the 5th of march 1998 and was raised in Damascus.

her house was destroyed during the Syrian civil war.

she and her sister went to Lebanon, and then Turkey, 

she is now a swimmer who competes against other swimmers.

She was part of the refugee Olympics.

    Ola Liam,

    Thanks for listening to the podcast and posting about Yusra Mardini, she is a pretty incredible and brave young woman isn’t she! Did you know anything about her before you did this activity? I didn’t, so your post definitely taught me something new :)

    It’s amazing how some people can experience so much scary and harmful stuff in their life but still succeed, and therefore be inspirational to others.
